Reading

This week, we are working on reading to compare and contrast across multiple texts.

Students are required to read 30 minutes each night (at least 90 pages each week).  Only pages read at home will count towards that total. They have been given reading logs for the week and are expected to turn in their filled out log PLUS 3 Reader's Response questions on a separate sheet of paper. These questions will guide them through their reading each night.

Word Study
This week, we are focusing on homophones (commonly misused words) . Each night, students are tasked with completing an assignment that provides them time to practice understanding the make up of the words on their list.

Math 
Please refer to your child's math teacher's page for info on their assignments.

Science

This week, we are working on finishing our LDC Unit on Our Galaxy. The next unit we will be moving into will be the Human Body. Stay tuned!

History

Students are learning about the ways of life for colonists living in Williamsburg. The test is currently scheduled for Wednesday, February 18th.

Biztown
Students have begun their study on our economics unit, Biztown. This week, we are discussing the steps to starting a business. We will learn about good and services and the different type of resources.
